Whilst staying at the more hostel than hostel Cliff Hostel in Amman I said hi to one of the Arab guys working there.
"Where you from?" says he.
America.
"Really? Me too!"
Oh yeah? What state?
"Iraq!"
Ziiinng! Arabs are sometimes the greatest. And I'm pretty confident that Iraqis are the best of the Arabs. I've met about five or more so far and they've been silly nice. No, not sarcastically either. Sincerely nice. Same thing with Palestinians. Neither really get upset with me for the ills of my government. They're just happy American me is here in the region, seeing how things are and spouting really bad Arabic.
Arabs are easy to please sometimes.
