So the donkey is now Abu Tafish.

'Abu' is the arabic word for father. Pretty much every feller with a son is called Abu Whatever-his-oldest-son's-name-is. It's kinda a nice respectful thing. So, guess the name of the first son produced by my host father, Abu Nihad. Correct.
So Abu Tafish is "Father of Tafish." Shu 'Tafish'? It means 'the one who leaves the house angry.'
Abu Ahmed, our logistics coordinator, said it is the traditional name of donkies in Jordan. (English is pretty foreign to me now. Even though I'm teaching it in the schools. Not that my Arabic is any good, but my English is just as bad anyways. The point is the 'donkies'looks real odd. Is the spelling 'donkeys'? I do not know.) The thing is, Abu Ahmed seems to be the only one who knows about this name. But he thought it such a great name and was present at the peel-eating that I'm honoring his request.
Thank you for the participation, however. The runner up, and the name that will be used whenever Abu Tafish does something so dang cute, is 'Carn.'
