Sat in a cafe in the town of Madaba tonight talking with some Belgians on a two month holiday in the Mid East. Me and some other volunteers just chewed the international goat fat with them as the Jordanians all around us were smoking the water pipe thingy that Mid Easterners and their friends smoke. It was wonderfully expat, which further means it was among the most Hemingway thing I've done.

I got a cell phone. The cover is a Jordanian flag with the Arabic phrase "El Ordon Alwan" which means "Jordan First." The guy who sold it to me said I was an Arab now. He was wearing an Oakland Raiders jacket, so he definately knows.
