Percipitation Station.

1.03.2004 - 4:14 p.m.

It only took three and a half weeks, but the last two days have been stacked with sober, blunt and candid conversation. Sometimes it's painful, sometimes it's an affirmation of why I came. I'm hesitant to go into detail as my hands are a little tied in regards to specifics, as I'm representing Peace Corps as an organization with my words and this is a quasi-public forum. Plus, everything here is onion. Layers, playa. Thank you Shrek. Yeah, but layered and counfounding and tangled - so much so that I don't want to misrepresent anyone or anything as I'm still in the throes of the learning stage.

Rereading that it sounds pretty weak and like a cop-out, but not for one second think I'm running away from unpleasentries. Partly I'm biding my time until my Arabic gets better and I don't ruin anything with the wrong words. But I've already logged about 20 or more hours of heavy and deep conversation and I love it. Lots.

I can say this: With the West Bank and Israel occupying the western border and Iraq on the east, Jordan is in a unique position. As a result, politics in the air and it doesn't take much to percipitate.
