An earthquake registering 4.7 on the Richter Scale happened near the border of Israel by the Dead Sea around 11:00 am this morning. No major damage or injuries were reported though the tremors registered as far away as Egypt.

How rad is it my first earthquake ever happens while I'm 2,000 lightyears from home? Absolute rock and roll. All us volunteers and staff were in our training center in Madaba, just a short spell away from the Dead Sea. I was sitting at a table discussing the first two nights in my host village with Rima, Jackie, Mike and umm...someone else, when I heard what sounded like a big truck go by or hit something outside. The concussion was quite minor. I stood up, took one step and felt a wave of pure energy roll though the floor and the bottom of my legs. The whole stucture - concrete times concrete - seemed to move horizontally four inches and that was that. We awkwardly scurried outside and regrouped.
Ok, this is not so cool, cos I'm out of time and it'll be Monday before I'll have internet access again.
